ABOUT US

In 1973, Hans Baumann realized his dream by founding “BAT – Baumann Auto Technik” in Nuremberg. Right from the beginning, he embraced his passion for US vehicles on Rothenburger Straße. Initially, the company specialized in the conversion and enhancement of Chevrolet Corvettes, but it soon expanded its expertise to include all American vehicles.

In 1978, the company relocated to new premises on Rothenburger Straße, where Hans Baumann actively engaged in motorsport, participating in various races across Europe. This experience allowed him to offer invaluable insights into automotive tuning for his customers.

In 1979, Tom Adam developed a keen interest in cars and, during his free time after school, began helping out at his parents' American vehicle repair shop.

In 1986, Tom officially started his apprenticeship as a car mechanic at BAT. Following the unexpected passing of Hans Baumann in 1999, long-time team members—master automotive technician Tom Adam and journeyman mechanic Rainer Haack—took the reins of the company, ensuring its continuity while honoring Baumann's legacy.

In 2006, Rainer Haack retired, marking the end of an era. By 2020, BAT had established itself on Rothenburger Straße for over 47 years, with Tom Adam leading a dedicated team committed to meeting their customers' diverse needs. Racing remained a central focus of the company, showcasing its ongoing passion and expertise.

In 2021, after 43 years at Rothenburger Straße 447, the company made the heartfelt decision to relocate. The moving process suspended many operations during the first half of the year, but by July, the workshop in Fürth Dambach was fully operational again.

By 2023, Tom Adam and his wife began preparing for a significant transition to Florida, USA.

In 2025, BAT will embark on a new chapter with its move to Port Charlotte, FL, embracing a fresh identity while drawing upon years of experience and passion for American automobiles.
